Here are two very sad poems - make sure you have plenty of Kleenex on hand before you read them. However, in their sadness they do give us hope that when it's our turn to cross Rainbow Bridge, we'll be with our beloved furbabies again.
On the following pages, you will find personal tributes to Westies
who are now at Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Beyond the Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

Here are some other places that honor Westies and other animals who are now at Rainbow Bridge.
Westies Remembered, is a truly lovely site dedicated to Westies. Melissa has done such a beautiful and touching job of putting together these pages. Click on the link below to see photos of Westies who are now at Rainbow Bridge, along with personal rememberances by those they left behind. And there are some sad, yet wonderful poems there too.
Here's another website that offers more poems and links to other web pages and support groups. If you have had to send your baby over the bridge, or your little one has a special need, you can have their name added to this site for inclusion in the weekly Monday evening candlelight ceremony. You can also post tributes there. It is a very sad place to visit, so be prepared to shed a bucket or two of tears.
Here's yet another beautiful and touching site that has memorial services, pet loss chat, pet poems and stories, e-mail sympathy cards and much more. Click on the picture to take you to Rainbows Bridge.
