Tracking Photos

The following photos are Allison Platt handling with Sprite (Kirkton's
Quicksilver Girl, TDX, OA, JE). Photos by Sue Ammerman. Captions by Allison Platt.

At the beginning of the track there is a flag to mark the start. This is
the only place where the handler knows for sure the location of the track.
The handler points to the track to indicate which scent the dog is to
follow, and after that it is all up to the dog!

Here Sprite is working out in front of Allison. The dog must work no less
than 20 feet from the handler during a TD or TDX test.

This close-up shows Sprite searching for a turn on a practice TDX track.
In tracking tests there are no markers to show you where the track is
located: the dog must show you

Here Sprite has found the "article" at the end of her practice track (a
sock), and receives her rewards: abundant praise, treats, and time with her
owner.
